Hindutva, the composite culture of India, as manifest today in daily life, has evolved over the millennia within the socio-cultural and religious milieu primarily of the Sanatana tradition. Buddhism too had contributed to it for approximately 1800 years. Eventually the Sanatana tradition succeeded in enervating and marginalising Buddhism whilst simultaneously incorporating into itself variegated aspects of it, notably Buddhist sacred places, considered integral it. Puranas purportedly timeless, were composed particularly since Adi Shankaracharya c. 6th century CE, to justify the above. It was only in the nineteenth century that curious British explorers uncovered evidence of what had once been a pulsating Buddhist culture, spanning from the Mediterranean Sea to the Indo China Sea. By then however, the thread of continuity remained extant only in insignificant pockets in this sub-continent. What remained in its place is a Sanatana tradition, itself thoroughly riddled with irreconcilable paradoxes.

Historians are agreed on the fact that when the Muslim invasions started in the eighth century, India had a variety of thriving cultures, economic systems, industries, religions and so on. Invaders simply looted the sub-continent of its wealth, taking it back to their places of origin, a process which started with Mohammed of Ghazni who attacked and looted the temple of Somnath seventeen times. The sacking of Nalanda University and the concomitant mindless slaughter of Buddhist monks 1200 AD by Bakhtiar Khilji, was obviously the last nail in the coffin, snapping finally India's links with its Buddhist past. Subsequently various Muslim and European influences have gone in to weave the fabrique which is mainstream Indian life.

Thus, that which is termed Hindutva now, is the result of an inexorable process of assimilation of various foreign influences, not least of all British. In certain parts of the country Portugese and French influences run deep. It is a culture, a way of life which goes beyond the ordinary definition of religion. Thus one finds that a Muslim from India has decidedly traits of Hindutva, differentiating him from his Arab counterparts. Similarly an Indian Christian cannot be compared with his caucasian brothers and sisters. The attempt to recreate a Buddhist consciousness within the context of Hindutva is an uphill task leaving much to be desired, lacking as it does in continuity from its past. This process too is riddled with ethno-centricity.

Hindutva, as experienced today, is a direct denial of Sanatana adhyatma itself and appears in direct conflict with the teachings of Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam, Sufism, Sikkhism and so on. The critical reader is referred to the works of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore amongst others, a number of which have been translated into English and other languages, for detailed insights into the Indian psyche! It is curious indeed that few Hindu organizations are actually engaged in social work a la Christian missionaries. It is exactly in this context that they lose out as there is little evidence to show that they are actually working to ameliorate the condition of the ordinary person! This is its greatest failing!

It has evolved into a way of life which is mutually destructive and reprehensibly anti-people; its basic fulcrum -- an abject selfishness which has honed the art of creating suffering for others into a sophistry. In Hindutva it is invariably the bizarre which takes centre stage. Exemplified in the movie Devdas, this oppressiveness and bondage is the reality of daily life in India! Any individual who fails to see this is merely fooling oneself, indulging in the age old game of denial.

Hindutva is indo-centric – all peoples, cultures and religions have supposedly originated in India from pre-history onwards. This is totally fallacious!

Hindutva fails to provide the natural assurance to any individual born within its fold, that one will be able to lead a decent and normal life granted to one as one's inalienable birthright. This is in direct contrast with the western welfare state.

Hidnutva defines itself on the basis of hubris -- a national pride which refuses to acknowledge its
own wretchedness.

Hindutva is parasitic and decidedly anti-people. Moreover it is anti-national! This is in direct contrast with cultures in the developed world which have evolved within a Christian ethos and where the entire system is directed for the benefit of its peoples and its nations.

Hindutva does not foster courage and decisiveness in the national interest, as is repeatedly witnessed particularly in functioning of various govts and the way the administration works. This manifests as a strength only when personal interests are at stake as may be deduced from the manner of functioning of various political leaders in various states.

Hindutva does not foster trust amongst each other. Even members of the same family know little better than exploit each other. Most filial interactions are hardly conducive to well being. Invariably all interactions merely perpetrate conflict.

Hindutva promotes conflict for its own sake, in direct contrast with western civilizations deriving from the Christian ethos, where, having suffered two world wars, the stress has shifted to stability and the relative absence of conflict within its own polity.

Hindutva nurtures a sense of extended tolerance for evil, unparalleled in any other society. In Hindutva, human life is of little importance -- those of cows and monkeys however, are of far greater significance deriving from supposedly religious premises!

Hindutva clearly lacks the capacity to learn from history and historical blunders. It has yet to learn from historical lessons, such as the famous Jai Chand and Prithviraj episode -- Jai Chand invited Mohammed Gauri to vanquish Prithviraj and was subsequently destroyed himself by his erstwhile ally!

Its principal approach is the utter lack of concern for an individual and one's fundamental rights.
Hindutva is perpetrated through obfuscation and obscurantism -- the truth is to be purposefully suppressed and doctored as it will otherwise create offence! Thus, it is in direct contrast with modern values and globalisation, where knowledge is strength and transparency lends credibility!

In Hindutva, religion is merely another business -- a way of making easy money!
Hindutva entails a living in the past -- repeatedly recollecting the greatness of a mythical past, whilst being totally unconcerned with the present. It is as if merely reciting the glories and qualities of Eight Avatars of Vishnu, various heroes and so on, exonerates the person from being creatively involved in current daily affairs. Evolution or a progression towards liberation is beyond the scope of almost all Indians. This vicarious experience of Moksha is deemed sufficient!

Buddhists reject outright the brahminical assertion that the Buddha is the ninth avatara of Vishnu!

It is the individual who oneself purposely perpetrates Hindutva, having been inculturated by one's elders and society in the noble art of living a la Hindutva! It is thus that the personality of each individual is purposefully stunted by the convoluted personalities of one's elders to suit their own selfish ends. It needs to be emphasised here that younger generations invariably imbibe values from their elders and if youngsters go astray, it is due to the fault of their parents, not the other way round! Self righteous Hindutva fails to understand this basic fact of life!

In Hindutva, the individual's personal interests and one's benefit are all sacrificed on the altar of the whims of elders, who pretend and claim ad nauseum that they are acting in the individual's best interests. This is in actuality, rarely true! Such an assertion is entirely specious for the simple reason that succeeding generations are products of varying historical processes which elders are more often than not, at a loss to understand. Elders also harbour the peculiar notion that they actually OWN their children as if they were cattle or sheep, having no mind or individuality of their own.

It is characterised by deifying elders who naturally assume the role of the 'thikedar' of their community or religion -- the Defenders of the Faith -- supposedly infallible but invariably proved otherwise! In spite of this their vicious grip on the individual remains virtually unchallenged and self perpetrating!

Hindutva is characterized by the impulse to deify supposedly 'good' people, elevating them to the rank of divinity and worshipping them. The stress is not on the emulation of the goodness manifest by them. Moreover, such blind and devoted idol worship precludes the possibility of the truth of such personalities ever being known –- that each good person too is culpable, as is all of humanity!

A religious person is one who observes rites, rituals and fasts, praying to the deities for the fulfillment of one's wishes, which for the most part are misguided. If the deities were indeed to fulfill such requests, the world would be reduced to chaos. Such external observances miss their essential spiritual content, while the basic psyche of the individual remains untransformed. Adi Shamkaracharya is the person responsible for introducing this peculiarity of karma-kanda into the Hindu repertoire in the sixth century CE.

It is characterised by an utter lack of a fear of God or the Divine, a lack of conscience or the awareness of what may be wholesome, devoid of the understanding that one must 'reap as one sows'.

Hindutva defines karma in its own inimitable way -- the individual is to perform acts irrespective of whether they are ethically correct or not, leaving the results to God! Of course, when events turn out contrary to one's wishes, God is invariably there to be blamed for one's setbacks or one's kismat or fate!

In Hindutva, the sole purpose and vision in life is to 'progress' in life doing whatever one might please, irrespective of the methods employed to do so, at the expense of the nation, society and so on. Greed is the ruling dictum! Anything and everything is passe so long as it brings instant gratification!

The Hindutva of the day is defined on the basis of a tyrannical, feudal and clannish consciousness which perpetrates despotism, nepotism and discriminates between fellow humans on specious grounds -- it is this which has emerged as the greatest bane of existence in India!

Hindutva fosters laziness and absenteeism. Countless instances exist of people in govt employ who attend office only once a month merely to sign the attendance register for all the days they were absent and draw pay for the entire month without doing any work. The situation in offices is also rarely any better with people missing from their desks for extended tea, coffee and paan breaks! Unless the proper extra amount is paid, no work gets done in any case. A govt job is understood as merely a license for officers and its employees to make money surreptitiously.

The country runs almost entirely on who one knows, one's contacts, one's level of influence rather than merit, the truth or legalities. Every aspect of life is politicsed. Is it any wonder then that the country performs dismally during the Olympics?

In Hindutva, each and every government officer is required to pay a monthly amount in five or six figures, to one's political bosses from one's illicit earnings -- the vicious cycle of corruption thus rolls merrily along. India ranks amongst the top ten of corrupt countries in the world!

Hindutva is a total denial of the provisions and the spirit of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of India which is based on the principles of egalite, liberte, fraternite, justice for all, unity and the nurturing of a harmonious environment.

In the dispensation of Hindutva, the Constitution of India and its various laws are not understood to form the basis of civic society. Laws are there to be circumvented or broken to suit one's own convenience. This is the basic premise. The bigger the breach, the greater the joy!

An entire range of professionals comprising lawyers, chartered accountants and so on have evolved who proudly specialise in this noble art of breaking the law, tax evasion, earning black money and so on. These professionals get paid to essentially cheat the country of its legitimate dues. Is it any wonder then that the country's internal borrowings have reached a staggering Rs. 40,000 crores? Should every Indian pay one's legitimate tax dues, this national debt would be wiped out within a matter of months.

It is characterised by irresponsible authoritarianism – the whimsical assertion of dominance simply for its own sake; the benefit of the other being of no consideration whatsoever!

It is characterised by corrupt, uncouth and semi or illiterate politicians and their kin, together with a bureaucracy and administration compelled to be equally evil by its political bosses. The entire system is geared to merely serving the whims and fancies of its political masters. It ensures that the corrupt are rarely punished or the loot recovered. Covering up criminal acts of politicians is the rule.

Hindutva has now degenerated into that which is essentially a rule by the mafia, where criminals get 'elected' through dubious means, nurture others of their ilk and create and maintain insurgencies against the nation!

Amazingly various insurgent outfits such as the Maoist Communist Centre, Peoples War Group, the Naxalites, ULFA amongst so many others, have actually been created and continue to be sponsored by politicians as being integral to statecraft. These rakshasas in time, take on their own life and fly out of control, terrorizing and vicitimising the ordinary Indian.

It is characterised by a police force which, for the most part, regards policing as merely another business, rather than the protection of the rights of an individual or the maintenance of law and order in the service of the people and nation. Moreover with political bosses interfering in its daily work, patronising and protecting criminals, it is amazing that any policing actually gets done.

Hindutva perpetrates an outdated and outmoded legal system dating back to 1835 when the Penal Code was formulated by Lord Macaulay. It is out of touch with modern ground realities. Thus vested interests succeed in obstructing the judiciary while the guilty remain at large, who untouched by the law continue to terrorise the ordinary person in various ways. Judicial processes extend over decades making an utter mockery of justice. Whereas the UK and other western countries have succeeded in evolving new civil and criminal codes, India remains stuck in the past.

False witnesses are freely purchasable for petty considerations, while lawyers particularly in lower courts, make an utter mockery of justice by wheeling and dealing at the expense of their clients. None is ever punished for perjury, such is the level of rot endemic to the system.
Most litigation is purposefully extended over decades by unscrupulous lawyers so that they may exploit their clients outright! Moreover, it is common to find lawyers particularly in lower courts, compromising the interests of their clients by joining hands with opposite parties. Bar Councils, supposed to monitor the ethics of their members, too are run by people with questionable ethics as a result of which the guilty go unpunished in various states.

It is characterised by a consciousness where so-called political leaders must debate endlessly in the legislature in an uncouth and uncivilised manner, at enormous public expense, over trivia such as the merits or demerits of cow slaughter, while matters of serious national concern for the development and growth of the country, the protection of individuals, protection of the rights of women and others are wilfully neglected!

Proceedings in the Indian Parliament and State Legislatures, some of which are telecast, need to be compared with the manner in which these proceedings are conducted in the west! Similarly the functioning of the lower courts leaves much to be desired!

In Hindutva, politics is NOT understood as being for the benefit the country and its peoples. It is understood as yet another way of gaining dominance, to do as one may please, including stashing away crores and millions of Rupees and dollars for oneself. Politics is not for the service of the people from which it supposedly draws its legitimacy! The criminal antecedents and continuing criminal activities of those supposedly elected is simply mind boggling. Nor is there any sense of principles or political philosophy! Expediency is the order of the day! People conveniently shift allegiances or create schisms in parties in spite of which their membership of the legislature is not canceled.

Is it any wonder then that country remains lagging behind the developed world?

It is characterised by an elephantine bureaucracy with outmoded methods of functioning resulting in red tapism and black marketing both of which merely breed further corruption. Every person in authority is a god or demi god who has the license to do as one may please. Officers hesitate to take decisions, content to pass on the buck in a ceaseless merry go round. It is only money which speaks. Anyone who has seen Office-Office on SAB TV will understand exactly what is being stated here.

Earlier Hindutva had given birth to what is termed the 'license raj' where only the privileged few could function properly in this massive country. Even now, prospective investors from abroad are presented with immense hurdles. Yet again it is only money which speaks.

Hindutva has nurtured a system of imparting knowledge to children based on the principles enunciated by Lord Macaulay in 1835. Education is unheard of as also is personality development except in select elitist schools which are extremely expensive and beyond the reach of 90% of the populace. The curriculum places an inordinate burden of rote learning on delicate minds, distorting personality as it evolves. Enormous stress is experienced by students as they move through the system. Some even commit suicide out of sheer desperation.

The entire structure demands that one attains the maximum number of marks, rather than understand that which is supposedly being taught. Extra curriculars for the most part are a chimera. The system is geared with the sole intent that an individual is enabled to earn money throughout adulthood rather than become a good citizen. In any case as they grow into adulthood children are faced with the realities of life where they are compelled to compromise on the values which might have been inculcated in them.

Amazingly in various states, examinees demand the right to cheat during exams, often turning violent if not granted! Impostors, masquerading as genuine examinees, are often permitted to write answer papers on behalf of their sponsors.

Evaluation of papers poses yet another challenge due to the sheer numbers involved. Examinees are certainly left at the mercy of the whims of evaluators who find it physically impossible to correct papers properly. Moreover vested interests ensure that select examinees are pampered.

It is characterized by a perceptible lack of civic sense.

Hindutva perpetrates the manufacture and sale of spurious life saving drugs. The Week, May 18, 03 carried an extensive report on this evil. Needles and syringes are recirculated with nauseous regularity! Proper disposal of medical waste is a far cry.

In fact an entire infrastructure exists which replicates goods, be they medicines, garments, electronics, biscuits and so on and marketed by unscrupulous traders as being genuine. It is the ordinary Indian who is thus exploited and victimised.

Similarly quality control is highly questionable as also is the pricing of articles. Traders consider it their god given right to demand what they please as the price of their goods. No standardization or price structure exists. Similarly weights and measures are fixed! One merely has to visit various markets anywhere in the country to verify this noble truth of existence in India.

Hindutva promotes unchecked, the adulteration of food stuff. Some time ago a report had appeared in a Bihar newspaper to the effect that leather trimmings were being added to CTC tea! Butter oil or ghee is invariably adulterated with animal fat, hydrogenated oils and other mind boggling things. Ground products are mixed with god alone knows what. Similarly one never knows as to what petrol and diesel contain!

It is characerised by a permissiveness which lets industry manufacture and market sugar high in sulphur content so that the ordinary Indian, thus poisoned necessarily falls sick leaving one at the mercy of the medical industry. The health of its citizens is NOT the concern of Hindutva!

It has become the norm in India to supply grains unfit for human consumption, particular to the poor. For the most part, they are either rotten or laden with insects, stones, mice droppings and so on, under the public distribution system. Thousands of tones of grain procured by the govt continue to rot in godowns of the Food Corporation of India due to callous management, while the poor in the thousands starve due to abject callousness on the part of the central and state govts and local administration.

In Hindutva the level of public health care available is prehistoric, with all involved merely concerned with pocketing the finances made available to them. The general condition of government hospitals and medical centers throughout the country is simply pathetic! Doctors for the most part absent themselves or perform service far less than they are required to. They keep themselves employed by running personal clinics and surgeries where they may earn inordinate amounts of non taxable income!

Hindutva is characterised by a 'green revolution' where chemical fertilisers and pesticides contribute to the rampant spread of disease throughout the country even as underground water tables get contaminated through the leaching of chemicals and the quality of cultivable earth gets degraded. The concept of organic farming is alien to Hindutva.

It is characterised by the supply of synthetic milk prepared using urea, hydrogenated synthesised fats and detergents to young and old alike with disastrous consequences.

Hindutva is defined as an utter lack of concern for governance and law and order. Hundreds of crores of rupees are spent on ill thought out schemes, being paid for from the exchequer to the unscrupulous. On many occasions a project has been shown on paper to have been completed. A few months later money is allocated to reverse the supposed project which was executed only on paper in the first place, the money being pocketed by officials in collusion with sharp operators.

It fails to provide civic amenities such as drinking water, wells, electricity, motorable roads, proper medical facilities, garbage disposal and so on to the citizens of this country, so that one may be empowered to progress in life, living at relative peace with oneself and one's neighbour. Public drains and gutters choked, overflow during rains creating flowing rivers of waste on badly maintained roads. This apathy on the part of authorities and tolerance on the part of local residents are both mind boggling!

Hindutva encourages the theft of electricity – illegal tapping, tampering of meters, falsifying utility bills are integral to daily life.

It is characterised by tampering with electoral rolls and a variety of mind boggling electoral malpractices -- all in the name of India being the 'largest democracy in the world' and Indians being the superior peoples. The political system in India is the pits and can hardly be termed a 'democracy' by any stretch of imagination!

It is characterised by mobilising the masses in the name of rallies, strikes, bandhs and so on, without any regard for the country, its peoples and the tremendous national loss which these may result in. During such events it is the general public which suffers, public and private property is generally looted, commandeered and appropriated with impunity.

It is characterised by muzzling the media to suit the misconceived and petty ends of dhotiwalas, politicians, at all levels. It is common for a politician to make a statement and retract it an hour or so later, claiming that the media is responsible for any supposed misrepresentation! Amazingly the visit of the President of India to Bihar May 29 - 31, 03 was covered only in fits and starts by the media, both electronic and print.

It is characterised by a misconceived impulse to spend thousands of crores of rupees on the construction of temples, whether in Ayodhya or other places, as if merely by such activities, Hindus will be absolved of the burden of sins which they commit with nauseous regularity.

In Hindutva the awareness simply does not exist that money slated for the construction of temples, mosques and so on in millions, would be far better spent caring for fellow humans or depolluting the rivers Ganga, Jamuna, Godavari and others which have been so badly polluted that their water is rotting, having lost the very sanctity Sanatana scriptures have invested upon them.

Countries such as Saudi Arabia religiously donate millions for the construction of mosques and madarsas, whereas as little is done to alleviate the lot of the ordinary muslim enabling him to enter the Indian mainstream. Isn't it amazing that the large part of the muslim population in India is content to exist in the lower rungs of the social order, controlled by the diktats of the muslim clergy who seek little but control over their following and who are now openly perpetrating conflict throughout the world in the name of Islam!

Miniscule amounts of money properly spent would actually improve the quality of life of the ordinary citizen. But in front of the Ayodhya temple and Babari Masjid, all else ceases to be of relevance! It is pertinent to mention here that in actuality modern Ayodhya is a total misnomer if one were to go by historical evidence! What Chinese travelers of the fifth, sixth and seventh century had found there was a thriving Buddhist community -- a vibrant city called Saket! Events leading to its destruction and usurpation by Hindutva remains an intractable mystery.

Hindutva is characterised by tyranny, aggression, repression, oppression and suppression of the individual with oppressors actually taking utter delight in the hardship caused to others.

It is characterised by attempts of various communities and castes to trample on the rights of members of other communities and castes, usurp their property, places of worship and so on using specious logic to support their claims.

It has been historically proven, admitted by none other than Swami Vivekananda, that the so-called pilgrimages of the Sanatana tradition are in actuality Buddhist pilgrimages blatantly usurped by brahminism, the process having been initiated by Adi Shamkaracharya in the sixth century or so. Archeological discoveries continue to reveal the extent to which Buddhism had spread throughout the country. Subsequently Muslims too appropriated many such sites for themselves even though they vehemently deny such excesses.

The travelogues of Chinese pilgrims between the fourth and sixth centuries CE do not refer to the existence of a Rama Janmabhumi in Ayodhya or a Krishna Janmabhumi in Mathura. On the contrary they describe the existence of vibrant Buddhist cultures in these regions. In fact, the Mathura School of Art predominantly depicts Buddhist motifs. Except for perhaps Dwarika, little archeological evidence survives to this day in support of various Brahminical contentions making them suspect. History cannot be based on mythology -- the two are vastly different but integral aspects of human life. The location of the Ramayana episode too has been questioned by the astronomical co-ordinates mentioned in the Balmiki Ramayana which point to a region south of the Caspian Sea!

The Ram and Krishna Janmabhumi are both a hoax which only Hindutva could perpetrate on its gullible following! Both are actually Buddhist sites usurped by it! At this stage of history, it has become utterly impossible to separate the truth from the prevarications integral to the Sanatana tradition!

Its priests openly claim in Bodh Gaya, that images of the Buddha are those actually of the Five Pandavas, that of Tara, Draupadi! None dare challenge it as this is purportedly tradition! Archeologists are repeatedly uncovering evidence that a large number of supposed Sanatana sites are actually Buddhist, but then there is none who listens!

Essentially, when the very basis of the Sanatana tradition itself is questionable, isn't it amazing that any good can actually come out of it? Isn't this the reason then that things are so wrong in India?

It is characterised by scandals, scams, embezzlement, fraud, corruption and the use of inordinate muscle power in all aspects of daily life. The guilty continue to move around free and proud, enjoying the fruits of their misappropriated prosperity.

In this country anything and everything can be had for a price! This is its greatness!
Hindutva is characterised by a total lack of gratitude to India, Bharat Mata, the land of one's birth -- the very country which nurtures and supports each individual from birth until death. Its overt expression is the habitual and obsessive attempt to defraud the country of various taxes legitimately due to the exchequer.

This is amazing for the simple reason that if we as Indians do not support and care for our country, none other will! Others will merely exploit it as history has repeatedly shown from Mohammed of Ghazni to the British!

It needs to be emphasized here that if professionals, businesses and industries had regularly paid taxes, the country would never have had to be indebted to the IMF, World Bank and so on. And should they do so now, the $100bn loan will be repaid within a year if that.

Hindutva does not acknowledge the principle of social justice. If it did then why would the salaried classes be penalized by taxes deducted at source, while unscrupulous professionals, businessmen and industrialists actively evade taxes? Clearly one segment of the populace is victimized and exploited in favour of others, whilst people accept the status quo passively.

Hindutva seeks rights for individuals without urging them to be responsible citizens! The government is there to take care of citizens who do as they please!

It is characterised by politicians, industrialists and businessmen stashing away over $ 100 billion or more of the national wealth and that of the people of India, in foreign banks, compelling the country to borrow from the IMF, the World Bank and so on, for its progress!

Hindutva is characterised by thousands and hundreds of thousands of government employees not being paid their monthly salary due to financial mismanagement!

It is characterised by businessmen enjoying a daily turnover of tens of thousands of rupees without paying taxes. Tax authorities, suitably ingratiated, wantonly look the other way.

The desire of every individual is to gather more and more whatever be the cost and its consequences! That one will die and leave everything behind, taking with one only one's karma, is hardly any consideration whatsoever! Elders do not even know this basic truth! In fact deities are propitiated for the fulfillment of one's personal wishes.

Hindutva is a process of life in which the blind lead the blind!

It is characterised by meanness and pettiness -- the odious desire to purposely create nuisance for others so that they remain stuck in an inexorable circular motion rather than progress. Neither does one go beyond one's pettiness, nor does one permit the other to prosper!
The axiom of 'live and let live' is entirely alien to Hindutva!

It is characterised by the obsession to destroy forests for the cremation of the dead or for money, irrespective of its consequences in terms of environmental degradation, global warming and so on. Electric crematoria are the norm merely in the cosmopolitan cities. Even in many state capitals, not to mention district headquarters, crematoria have not been installed or are inoperative for one reason or another! Then of course one has to contend with the blind adherence to custom which requires the cremation of corpses in open fires! In innumerable cases, corpses are simply dumped by the authorities into rivers to decompose naturally!

It is a consciousness totally inured to the social or public good and which cares little for the degradation of the environment -- open sewers discharge thousands of tonnes of unprocessed sewage and effluents into rivers every hour throughout the country.

It is founded on the principles of self righteousness, double, actually multiple standards, lack of coherence between philosophy, thought and deed -– i.e. of blatant hypocrisy!

It is a system where pure fun is anathema -- neither does an individual enjoy one's own life, nor is another permitted to do so!

Friendship in Hindutva is understood simply to mean – Can this person, my friend, be able to help me make more money, does he know the right people and so on? This is in direct contrast with the understanding and implementation of friendship in the western world!

It is a vicious and self-perpetrating cycle devoid of even basic concern for the other, what to talk of compassion towards others -- life is almost animal like!

None of the above is in consonance with the teachings of various Holy Scriptures, the vedas, upanishads, puraanas and shaastras, nor of the countless enlightened Masters who have manifest in Aryavarta with the specific intent of guiding a people misled by their own misconceived sense of purpose in life, contrary to the elucidations in the scriptures of various extant faiths, traditions and so on.

One is constrained to believe that those who project themselves as the spiritual leaders of Hindutva and organisations who claim to be social reformers are merely cheer leaders being maintained by massive donations from their devoted following, actively engaged in illegal activities, to support their hubris. Few, if any are really interested in reforming oneself into a better person! These various god-men and organizations purportedly for the upliftment of the individual too, must answer on the day of reckoning for their acts of commission and omission which merely highlights the Yaksha's question to Yudhishthira: 'Kim Ascharya?' 'What is the most surprising of all?'

It is almost as if the concept of evolution has all but evaporated from the Hindutva consciousness, caught up as it is in the so-called mundanities of unethical living in a no-holds barred society where the torture and burning of brides for dowry are all passe!

It is extremely unfortunate that the majority of Indians who emigrate to the west take with them their heritage of Hindutva spreading its cancerous tentacles abroad.

It is certainly due to the above that the more enterprising Indians who go to the west, and who have the courage to break away from the shackles of the Hindutva mould, breathe more freely within the context of a Christian ethos. There they are able to reach the heights of their capabilities, such as Kalpana Chawla, whereas those who choose to remain behind in the quagmire, must remain content in the supposed greatness of Hindutva, endlessly singing its praises.

It is due to the above, that India as a country, continues to remain the backwaters of the developed world, with the ordinary Indian a second class citizen in one's own country, while the tiny fraction which wields unbridled power in the name of industry, community, caste, religion and purported political leadership, enjoys the fruits of exploitation of more than 95% of its citizens!

The list of ills afflicting life in India is seemingly endless!

It may be correctly argued that the above are merely human failings. The unfortunate aspect of it is that it is within the folds of Hindutva that they are highly accentuated and find their overt manifestation in the form of an interminable rakshasa raja, the Dispensation of Unmitigated Evil, which has become the order of the day. Isn't it contradictory that for a set of peoples who claim to be the Aryas or the Noble Ones -– the cradle of civilization, such animal like behaviour is now the norm!

The question needs to be asked at this juncture as to why these human failings are contained in the western world whereas they have a free rein in this Land of Nobles!

Is it any wonder then that Baba Saheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is quoted by Arun Shourie in his recent work Worshipping False Gods, as saying that the ordinary Indian is mortgaged to the Baniya [the business community] and the Brahmin. Neither of them possessing any conscience, feel free to do as they please, exploiting fellow Indians to the hilt!

It is this Hindutva which has spawned the highly imperious, racist and Sino-centric Dalai Lama, the new Brahmin, essentially an overly glorified refugee, who seeks to rule the world in the name of Gelugpa Buddhism, with the aid of his western friends. Indians in particular, as also countless westerners, fooled by his oratory, fail to understand that ethnically, socially, economically and politically he is inextricably linked with China and will do nothing which will go against it. In his scheme of things, India, the country of his domicile, is merely a convenience, a temporary plaything!

In fact his elder brother and mentor, Gyalo Thondup, lives permanently in Beijing. In spite of having lived for 45 yrs like a de facto monarch of and in India, the Dalai Lama, bottle fed by the CIA, willingly toes the Chinese line much to the detriment of India, his country of domicile. His links with the CIA, all of which are documented, date back to the early fifties with it being instrumental in planning and executing the DL's flight from Tibet 1959, training Khampa guerillas etc.

The Dalai Lama has been made 'the face of Buddhism' in the world, through exceptionally aggressive PR, even though he is merely a mentor in the Gelugpa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism with a limited international following! This perception is so widespread that people who have absolutely no knowledge or understanding of the Tibetan phenomena, are completely closed to the very idea that it is a complex co-existence of the good and the bad -- that the Dalai Lama is yet another culpable human being in spite of the aura of inscrutability which has been created around him!

The GOI bends over backward to cater to the whims and fancies of the Dalai Lama. The media is compelled by it to cover up and not mention the truth concerning him! Amazingly, a dozen Indian monks, expressing their legitimate constitutional rights to protest peacefully against the Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya Jan 03, were sent to jail on trumped up charges, in the freezing winter, simply to appease this 'God, King and Emperor of Small Things' and ensure that his misconceived plans in Bodh Gaya to perform his pseudo religious and highly politically motivated Kalachakra Initiations and so on, were not obstructed!

Earlier, 13-12-1998 this writer together with two other unarmed Buddhists, were thrashed by Tibetans in front of the High Court, Patna Bihar, for the simple reason that they had put up banners challenging the Dalai Lama purported sovereign status, emphasising that he is merely a political refugee, drawing attention to the Chinese attempt to capture Sikkim through the purported Karmapa UTD and so on!

On Sunday May 25, 02, Saga Dawa, this writer, together with his 8 yr old son, both dressed as Lamas had visited Dharma Chakra Centre, Rumtek, Sikkim, the Seat of HH the Gyalwang Karmapa at about 1130 hrs. His wife and attendant had walked up the steep slope separately and gone straight to the main courtyard. This writer and his son walked up to the Thong Dhrol Lhakhang in the Karmae Nalanda Institute, where the relics of HH the XVIth Gyalwang Karmapa are enshrined in a 12' high golden stupa. He was amazed to find an atmosphere of darkness in the temple as if the spirit had left the place a long time ago.

After paying obeisance, as the duo silently walked down towards the main temple, they were accosted by some Dalai Lama loyalists, one monk and a few lay people whom this writer recognized from the past when better days had prevailed. They started to harangue and harass him even though this writer had visited with the simple intent of paying homage on this holy day and told them so.

They shoved a couple of round brown pills about 1 cm in diameter in front of them telling them that these contained the urine and faeces of HH the Dalai Lama and we were to eat these pills as blessings. Seeing their aggressiveness, this writer and his son hurried down the slope to the car park with these Dalai Lama loyalists chasing them down. Of course, the police was no where to be seen hence a written complaint was lodged with the DG Police, Gangtok and sent to him by registered post. This writer's wife was later called down from the monastery by their taxi driver. All this took place in spite of a court order restraining the Dalai Lama loyalists from breaking the law and harassing visitors!

So much for democracy a la Dalai Lama!

Moreover, he has introduced certain peculiarities of Tibetan culture into India, notably monastic homosexual paedophilia, a criminal offence which is simply abhorrent, condoned only by its nauseous frequency. The Dalai Lama does not have the courage to openly denounce it and ensure that 'especially the Gelugpas' do not engage in this wickedness under the garb of self righteousness. It hardly needs to be stated that boys who have been molested grow up permanently scarred, with a vast range of psychological problems. Even Heinrich Harrer in his travelogue 'Seven Years in Tibet' categorically states that monks in the Potala Palace are homosexuals. One wonders why the Dalai Lama and his followers continue to pretend as if this does not exist. In so doing they actively condone the evil. Strictly, as the Vatican has been doing, such offences should be tried in courts with offending monks summarily disrobed! But then perhaps he is himself guilty of such misdemeanour! For shame, for shame…!

If this is the community of monks the Dalai Lama leads, then this country and the world at large would be a far better place without him and his Gelugpa following!

Unfortunately his public image is so strong, with his admirers in powerful places, that few are even willing to even consider this as a possibility! Even the Secretary General of the UN and the UN Human Rights Commission refuse to investigate these sordid events in the monasteries of the Dalai Lama.. Similarly, the Govt of India continues to fete him as if the Dalai Lama is the constitutional monarch of India, inscrutable and indispensable!

Although it is known that he is no friend of India, he is still permitted to fly his national flag and run his Govt of Tibet in exile for which there is no provision in the Constitution of India or international law. The Dalai Lama, simply stated, is yet another scam! Under its aegis he runs a legislature and executive of some sort, but has not established a judiciary. This last so that his loyalists may openly break Indian laws with impunity.

For him and his ardent followers, India is a country where one may do as one pleases with total impunity, hence the Dalai Lama!

Indians have absolutely no inkling whatsoever that the Dalai Lama's recognition of Urgyen Trinlay Dorje, the Chinese Karmapa, who supposedly fled mid-winter from TAR, PRC 1999, and for all practical purposes sent to India by the PRC, is entirely at the behest of the Govt of the PRC. The world has been fooled into believing that a person assessed medically as 24 - 27 yrs old as of April 2000 by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Research, Chandigarh, is being promoted by the Dalai Lama as barely 18! The GOI has purposely suppressed this report giving the Dalai Lama a clean chit in this matter! Moreover there exists sufficient evidence to show that the person recognized jointly by the Dalai Lama and the Chinese govt in 1992 has been replaced by this person who claims to be UTD.

Moreover, there is an young Indian adult who was the first to have been pronounced as the XVIIth Karmapa by Indian saints as early as 1982. He has been sidelined by the Dalai Lama simply because he is NOT a Tibetan. So much for Dharma, truth and righteousness.

All this is courtesy the dhotiwalas, the custodians of Hindutva, the Guardians of the Faith, seated in New Delhi!

The reason why the Dalai Lama continues to live in India is simply because he is able to do as, when and whatever he pleases here with the GOI squandering Rs. 60 crores, 600 million, or more annually of the public exchequer, maintaining this dubious character, and that too without the consent of the Parliament. But then, there is none who will dare to question this in Parliament.

He will never live in a western country governed by Christian ethos for the simple reason that he will be bound to follow its laws, losing all his privileges in the process. In India the Dalai Lama has emerged as a law unto himself.

He creates and bends the provisions of the Three Covenants of Buddhism to suit his own convenience. If the Buddha's teachings are to be strictly applied to him and his followers, it will be found that the Dalai Lama is not even a monk within the definition of the term and that he has forfeited the right to refer himself as a Vajra Master due to his variegated acts of commission and omission in the name of political expediency. Similarly with the purported Prime Minister of the Govt of Tibet in exile amongst many others!

Residents of a western country moreover, would never tolerate his antics, examining his action in detail! His undelectable realities exposed for all to see, the halo of spirituality carefully crafted around him would collapse like nine pins! But then the west too has double standards in that it avidly sponsors him to create trouble in India for India through people such as this Dalai Lama, just as it bolsters Pakistan to foment trouble in India!

'Seven Years in Tibet' by Heinrich Harrer is the classic travelogue for the years between 1942 – 51. The movie is actually a political propaganda created by the Dalai Lama and his govt intended to mislead the world. The inquisitive may compare the book with the movie to substantiate the above.

Yes, the order of the hon'ble Supreme Court declaring Hindutva as a way of life is absolutely correct. No religion and community is spared from its cancerous tentacles making life in India simply miserable for all!

I am deeply indebted to Hindutva for all I have received from it and for leading me to the path of rectitude. However, I certainly do not intend to die within its context or be cremated here. It would be far better for me to be buried in the rolling meadows of Karme Choeling, Barnet, Vermont, USA, my spiritual home, or be fed to sharks in Sydney harbour, than die and be cremated in Aryavarta, this Land of Noble Beings!

It is my sincere prayer that by the time I die, I will have accomplished the specific purposes for which I was born in this country in the lap of Hindutva.

I sincerely pray to my Authentic Masters, the very embodiment of the Three Jewels, that by virtue of all the punya and jnana that I may have accumulated by the time I breathe my last, together with their unfailing guidance and blessings, I am never ever reborn again in this land of Aryas. A birth in the developed world would certainly be far better than anything this noble country can ever offer its citizens!

As if to substantiate the above, the performance arena of The Great Bombay Circus which had been showing in Munger since March 26, 03 was burnt down by arson between 2020 & 2100 hrs April 23, 03. A small light had been thrown from the outside on the ESE corner of the tent canopy. The fire rapidly engulfed the entire arena resulting in a stampede, even as this writer watched the entire scene unfold from within the arena in sheer amazement together with various judicial officers. Two country made bombs were found the next morning in the stands just below the place where the fire had been started, not more than 80' from where this writer had been sitting.

It is telling that this should have happened during the one time this writer had gone to watch the show! Clearly this was a dastardly attempt by the Dalai Lama and his cronies to eliminate this writer for vehemently opposing him! Needless to state, no other circus will venture to perform in Munger for the next decade or so, courtesy the Dalai Lama whose praises Indians must endlessly sing! But then where is it stated in Hindutva that the welfare of Indians is paramount?
The Dalai Lama, already directly responsible for the assassinations of Gungthang Tsultrim in 1978 for which the assassin was paid Rs. 1 lakh, and Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, the grandson of his purported arch enemy Ngapo Ngawang Jigme, April 92, has a lot to answer for, both while he is yet alive and subsequently when he leaves this world for good, hopefully soon! Clearly he was also the moving force behind the attempts to assassinate, announcing rewards for their successful extermination of, Their Holiness the XVIth Gyalwang Karmapa, Dudjom and Dhilgo Khyentse Rinpoches and others in the seventies and eighties!

In so doing he is merely continuing with the pogrom of wanton murder, sectarian violence and religious persecution unleashed by the Fifth Dalai Lama 1640 C.E.
Vive le Dalai Lama! Vive la Hindutva!
