EFFECTS OF REISHI GANODERMA ON CANCER PATIENTS
An old saying goes "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" but the gold standard saying now is "Ganoderma Lucidium" (DXN Ganoderma) daily, keeps you away from all the disease with long life of best health as per W.H.O. definition of health which is "complete well being of a person, physically, mentally, spiritually & socially".
DNX Ganoderma is a combination of six types of highly medicinal therapeutically valued Ganoderma. Ganoderma is a variety of the fungus family. Lucidum its name because of its shiny nature of fruit body.
Hippocrates the father of modern medicine said, "Let your food be medicine for you & let the medicine be your food;" but so far in my experience of 28 years of Allopathy practice I never came across anything which fits into this saying; until I came across DXN Ganoderma which is a food supplement. Which is highly approved as a "dietary supplement" as per the definition by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) USA.
Over centuries Ganoderma Lucidium was also called by the following names :-
1. Reishi in Japan;
2. Lingzhi in China;
3. 10 thousand year mushroom;
4. Holy mushroom;

WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL
From the traditional Chinese medicine point of view it has miraculous powers doing medical wonders because it scans the body and detoxifies and balances various body functions. GANODERMA LUCIDIUM & IMMUNE RESPONSES
The pharmocological effects of Ganoderma Lucidium in vivo and vitro to prove that it is a "Miraculous herb of Medical wonders".

Anti viral effect including the interferon production;
Enhances bone marrow nucleated cell proliferation (Jia of al., 1994);
Enhanced Natural Killer (NK) cell activity in vitro in mice (Zhang & Yu 1993);
General Immuno potentiation (Shin et al., 1986);
And HIV activity in vitro & in vivo (Kim et al., 1994);
Increased production of Interleukin - 1 by marine peritonial macrophages in vitro (Jia etal., 1993);
Increased production of Interleukin - 2 by murine splenocytes in vitrio (Zhang et-al., 1993);
Increased white Blood Cells (WBC) and hematoglobin in peripheral blood of mice (Jia etal., 1993);
GANODERMA LUCIDIUM AND CANCER
Scanning is the unique property of this herb. As per T C M diseases in general and cancer in particular manifest in the whole body as biochemical changes in fluid form of diseases before it primarily solidifies. As Ganoderma scans the changes, cancer is preventable by detoxifying and normalizing organ function due to its ingredients; complex polysaccharides (PSP) - peptides, high content of trace element organic germanium & Triterpenoids and adenosine. All these in joint action detoxify the foreign molecule, supply more oxygen to tissue ensuring that cancer cells cannot survive. Also increasing interferon anti bodies and awakening macrophages, the natural killer (NK) cell (the sleeping lion otherwise in our body defences). Cellular and Humoral responses inhibit cancer growth.
In 1980 Japanese scientist discovered that while the first line of defence WBC fail in our body against cancer cells, the sleeping lion i.e NK cell or macrophages which are even though 1/10 size of the cancer cells (under the microscope) have the power to destroy the latter. So it is invaluable to our body. However this sleeping lion cannot be easily activated. It is proved that the aggregated atoms are responsible for the activation and Ganoderma contains substances to manufacture these aggregated atoms.
In Japan it is used as the official treatment for cancer as an auxiliary to Radio Therapy, Chemo Therapy and also Surgery for Cancer.
INDICATIONS & EVIDENCES SUPPORTING THE USE OF GANODERMA SUPPLEMENTATION IN CANCER
Whilst some efficacy of Ganoderma in cancer is undoubted it remains important to specify the various indications and cite the evidences to support its use; under four different circumstances :-
1. As a supplement during Chemotherapy (Cytotoxic Drugs) or Radio Therapy, to reduce side effects such as fatigue, loss of appetite, hair loss, bone marrow, suppression and risk of infection.
There are studies demonstrating Ganoderma's efficacy against fatigue (Yang 1994), hair loss (Miyamoto et al 1985) and bone marrow suppression (Jia et al. 1993).
2. As a supplement for cancer patients to enhance survival and reduce the likelihood of metastasis because of glucan based Biological Response Modifiers (BRM) due to PSP demonstrated effectively to prevent or suppress pulmonary metastasis of methylcholanthrene induced surcoma, human prostate cancer DU 145M, and lymphatic metastasis of mouse leukemia P388 (Koba Yashi et al., 1995).
3. As a supplement for cancer to improve quality of life. As it is a herb of spiritual potency and mind calming effect it does release the stress of suffering from cancer suffering. Significant decrease of pain in cancer patients (Kupin 1994).
4. As a supplement for the prevention of occurrence recurrence of cancer. Since immune stimulation, especially natural killer (NK) and cytoxic lymhocyte (CTL) activation may be effective in the immune prevention of cancer by enhanced immune surveillance. (Lotzova 1985) and Ganoderma has been demonstrated to enhance NK and CTL activity when taken Orally (Won et al 1989), thus it is useful for the prevention, occurrence or recurrence of cancer.
CONCLUSION
Ganoderma Lucidum being an A-1 natural medicine and is not a drug i.e. it is without chemicals, has not undergone rigorous clinical trials to be tested against cancer, but there is abundant in vitro, animal and indirect clinical evidence to support its supplement use in cancer. For this, what is needed in us is Belief in it concerning the relief which is derived from its usage, without any slip between the cup & the lip. This ancient 'medicine of kings' in China has come to us as 'king of health food' giving us a ray of hope to overcome the possibility of being 1 in 3 people in this world dying due to cancer in future; as per the world statistics.

Empty 200 ml. Of water from 500 nil bottle,
Mix RG &GL powder and dissolve in the bottle containing 300 ml of water,
Pour back the 200 ml of water and shake the bottle forward and backward at east a 100 times so that the powder mixes thoroughly with the water.
